It’s been awhile since I updated you all on my fitness/health journey…

I’ve been consistently working out each week. Though the past two, have been less than previous weeks.

My Kung Fu training has been less the past few weeks as well.

Some of this has to do with the amount of work I have, some due to fighting off becoming sick abs letting my body concentrate on immunity vs. repairing from workouts and a lot to do with feeling a little down and out.

This time of year is just hard on me, though I do my best to fight it each year. And each year I do heal and accomplish more than the previous! Losing a child just plain out sucks, there’s no nice way to put it.

The good news is, I keep fighting the good fight and I have been losing weight. Part of this is due to changing my eating habits some and another part due to my physical activity.

My weigh in is tomorrow, however as of last week I lost 10 pounds. From 171 to 161.

Some of my pants are falling off, some that haven’t fit in a year fit fine while others are getting loose.

Weirdly enough though I’m in limbo between size 10 and 12, depending on the maker and cut… And at 171 it was a limbo between 11 and 12…

I’m digging my figure and I’m not too concerned about the pounds or size of my jeans.

I’ve been a whole lot less bloated and just feel lighter, which makes a huge difference. Now, I want to focus on toning and strengthening my body.

And wherever this journey takes me, I know my temple will be healthier and stronger as each day I am blessed with passes.

How is your training and working out going?

I use to wear makeup most days of the week. I went from no makeup periods to some concealer and mascara to bronzed goddess to dramatic eye makeup to the ‘natural look’ and back and forth…

To going years without wearing anything at all. I had to, because though I wore natural makeup, though I rarely used foundation, though I never ‘caked it’ on…

Somewhere along the way, I forgot how to love my true ‘natural look’.

So instead of weaning myself off, I ditched all my makeup. No concealer for my sometimes dark under eye circles or occasional zit, no more mascara to darken and thicken my eyelashes… Nothing.

It took several months to finally somewhat love me ‘all natural’ again. After about a year, I attempted to put makeup on just to see the difference…

Some of us get so caught up in our makeup, we don’t even realize we’ve lost touch with loving ourselves as is. The good news was I started to truly believe I looked better without makeup.

So, I continued on makeup free.

I was called crazy by some, told a woman could not look ‘put together’ without makeup on and a whole bunch of other lies from the devil.

And then there were the many compliments I got on how beautiful I am. Yup, I was still beautiful.

After being makeup free for about 2 years, I started occasionally wearing natural mascara because I prefer thick dark eyelashes, so sometimes I pretend I have them!

I even wear natural eyeliner and/or natural eyeshadow every once in a blue moon…

But foundation, coverup and blush still have not entered my realm. I’m also still a no makeup gal on most days.

So why do I wear makeup sometimes now? To test myself, see how I feel, why I like it or not and to let a little bit of my artistic expression dance on my canvas aka face.

Today, embarks the first time I’ve put on mineral foundation and blush since about 2010. Because a friend of mine has been wondering what I look like all ‘dolled up’ for sometime, I decided to indulge in their peaked curiosity.

I was also curious to see how I felt. I still feel I look beautiful with and without. And I still prefer the without!

What’s your thoughts and experiences with makeup?

My pumpkin doodle and me at her first worship concert to celebrate her 8th year of life on this place we call Earth.

She is my second child, my son Ayden was born full-term stillborn. Her name Jaya which I picked out when I was pregnant with him means victory which is beyond appropriate.

She is a gift from The Most High that gave me strength to keep pushing forward.

I hope the beautiful message of tonight echoes in her mind reminding her of what is really important in this life.

May YHWH Alahym bless her and keep her always. May she always know how much she is loved. And may she know His love always!

Hanging with some of my favorite peeps.

After hiking we went to Bonefish Grill and then had a dance battle!

I’m still undefeated! ;)

Thank you everyone for all the happy birthday wishes and love!

XOXO Blessings to you and yours! (at Folsom, New Jersey)

Started of my 33rd year of life fresh faced and full of energy.

I did Qigong, Tai Chi, Push Hands and then went with Erin and some of the pups on a 4 mile hike in Batsto.

Did you exercise or train today?

A great way to start my bday weekend. With people I love, some yummy grapes, a little local wine, crafts, local vendors, music and lots of love and laughter.
